But What I have a Problem with is this:
I just want to remind everyone, I am not anti-military. But what I am anti is the fact that they can do better than this. The Government and the Military needs to realize they need to protect those who serve for a cause and not in it for their own personal gain. For a perpetrator to get away and the victim to be punished is unlawful. The government should do everything in their power to protect the victim and to see the perpetrator be brought up for justice. After all, we the Military is part of the government.
Sounds to me they (as in the military) can still cover up what happened.
- If you are assaulted DON'T TAKE A SHOWER, DON'T DO ANYTHING BUT GO DIRECTLY TO THE CIVILIAN HOSPITAL AND DEMAND TO HAVE A FORENSIC RAPE KIT DONE. Talk to the civilian Sexual Assault Team before talking to the military. Give the civilian authorities a report of what took place and demand for a copy of everything including the results. PLEASE if you can, please LAWYER UP WITH A CIVILIAN LAWYER.
- BY NO MEANS DO NOT ALLOW THE COMMAND TO MAKE YOU FEEL YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS. Just because you are in the military, you are still human and YOU HAVE RIGHTS.
